To be honest…I barely have time to write this story. This isn’t a brag, it’s just the honest truth. Life is crazy but I need to launch this site.
I want it to be perfect.
I want to share this journey with you.
I want to give you the best launch experience plus I’m still comparing myself to my colleages…but in this instance …done has to be better than perfect. So here goes…..
Hi, I’m Ebony! For the past 13 years, I’ve owned and operated Sparkling Events & Designs, a full service wedding and event planning firm. We’ve planned numerous events including, weddings, social engagements, galas and other corporate meetings. Before and during my event planning business, I was also an IT professional with over 20 years of project and quality management experience with a heavy focus on quality and process improvement. This drives how I think about most things in life…how can we improve this? How can we make this better? What did we learn from this?
In 2019, I left my full time corporate career behind and in 2020 a global pandemic shut the world and events industry down. Finally in 2021, towards the end of the global pandemic I knew I wanted to pivot in my event planning business. I was producing the last wedding on the books and at the end of that beautiful day I knew that was my last wedding. Two weeks later an opportunity landed in my lap that led me to securing the largest corporate contract to date. I haven’t looked back……
I’ve always known that I wanted to pair my IT background with my event planning business. In fact, it was there all along because I’ve always used project management strategies to manage my business and my clients. I knew that my company needed to reflect that in our brand.
